The advantages of this method are keeping specular glass for a long time, steady technology, low pollution, low cost and good corrosion resistance. Its disadvantages are good non-staining property, high invest of equipment, needing necessary equipment for complex components, needing assistance of electrode and needing cooling equipment in quantity production. It is appropriate for quantity production. It is always used in high-scale production, exported production and tolerance production. It has steady technology and easy to operate.

It selectively dissolve the bulgy parts of material and make the surface smooth, which has the same theory with chemical polishing. Compared with chemical polishing, it has better effect because it can eliminate the bad effect of cathode.
 
There are two processes in electro chemistry polishing:

1, Lystate disperse in electrolyte and the surface roughness descends, Ra less than 1um.

2, The luminosity will increase because of anodic polarization. Ra less than 1um.
